Step 1. Remove the tone arm from the base of the unit by loosening the 1/4” screw shown in figure 2. Use extreme care not to rip out wires when lifting up and off the patter.

Step 2. Turn tone arm upside down and lay on top of platter as shown in figure1. Remove the two wires from old cartridge with needle nose pliers and the two mounting screws. Remove old cartridge and save screws. 

Step 3. Cut a piece of flat aluminum or steel to shape using figure 3 as a pattern. We prefer aluminum over steel for flexibility reasons. Drill (2) 1/8” holes at locations shown. 

Step 4. Mount aluminum to tone arm with screws from step2. 

Step 5. Jumper pin 1. (R-) and pin 2. (L+) on new cartridge in order to convert from stereo to mono. You should end up with two empty pins. see figure 4. 

Step 6. Epoxy new cartridge on plate made in step 3. Use 5 minute epoxy. 

Step 7. Attach wires from tone arm to pins 3 and 4. 

Step 8. Replace tone arm back onto unit and adjust the aluminum plate as necessary for proper alignment of new cartridge. Also check height and set down adjustments. When adjusted properly the player should be able to play a minimum of 8 stacked records with no problems at all, and the needle should set down in the lead in grove of the record every time.
